Clear improvements in habits and behaviour
My First Skool (MFS) has had a positive impact on my son’s life. Since joining in March 2020, he has adapted well and made much progress in the centre. He can socialise with his peers, and listen and act on his teacher’s instructions.
When my son first entered MFS, I was worried that he would not eat well. He used to throw tantrums during mealtimes at home, so I was concerned that this would continue at the centre. But after enrolling in the centre, I noticed that he has begun to express himself better, and his eating habits have also improved. The centre keeps me updated on his achievements in school, and it makes me more assured that he is cared for very well.
Initially, I was worried about being able to afford the school fees because my wife and I are unemployed. However, the centre explained about the Bright Horizons Fund (BHF) to me and encouraged me to apply for it. The subsidies extended put my mind at ease and my son is able to benefit from learning at MFS. The CDA top-up benefits my family the most because I can use it to offset my child’s school fees. This initiative has helped to alleviate our family’s financial burden quite a bit.
The BHF provides our family with care packs and NTUC vouchers. My son also enjoys receiving birthday cakes on his birthday. Besides this, Child Enabling Executives Vanessa and Vicnesh have gone the extra mile and helped to obtain diapers, household provisions and toys from sponsors. They also share information about additional resources we can apply for. I am very grateful for this support from NTUC First Campus because it has made a difference to my son’s preschool years.
