A Welcome Lifeline
When our children were first enrolled in MFS, my husband and I were both unemployed and faced financial difficulties. With seven children to bring up in a 2-room flat, conditions were not ideal at home for them. My oldest child did not attend school much because she was needed at home to help with her younger siblings. This was not an ideal situation as my children were struggling with reading and writing.
When we were referred to the Bright Horizons Fund (BHF), the support offered to us was a great relief. We received much needed financial assistance, free uniforms, and heavily subsidised childcare fees. Our family has also received formula milk powder, food provisions and toys.
During the COVID-19 circuit breaker period, the encouragement extended by the BHF ensured that our children did not slack in their learning. The caring staff shared learning strategies with us, and we also received additional food rations, hygiene care packs and supermarket vouchers to tide us over the difficult period. We are truly grateful for the practical support from MFS and its community partners.
The BHF has been a lifeline of sorts for us. They helped us to secure additional financial assistance from other channels, and my husband has also been able to work ad-hoc jobs to supplement the family income. We feel very supported by the BHF and are happy with our children’s progress in the centre. They can now recognise the alphabet, are able to write their names by themselves, and recognise simple words.
You can touch lives through the BHF. Your contribution goes a long way and helps to ensure that children are given opportunities to education regardless of their family backgrounds. Be a part of the BHF family.
