Discovering a Sense of Belonging

Both my children were living with their aunt previously as both my husband and I were working. But eventually we decided to have our children come back to live with us. I am the sole breadwinner in the family while my husband works as a part-time delivery rider.

With the assistance from the Bright Horizons Fund (BHF), our family has benefitted greatly from the $400 CDA Top-Up Programme as it not only helps with the school fees but we were also able to use it for the children’s medical appointments and doctor visits. In addition, the CDA funds can also be used to cover the children’s optician fees as both of them require spectacles. The new spectacles have enabled my children to stay attentive and participate better in class. It’s such a small thing but it has caused such big changes and it would not have been possible without the BHF.

Apart from the learning at school, my children have benefitted from food packs extended to provide essential food items and vitamins. The children also look forward to the You Are Special! birthday cakes they receive on their birthdays every year. BHF also makes it possible for the children to own new sets of uniforms. This really helps them to feel a sense of pride and belonging to MFS.

The various BHF programmes have not only helped our family financially within school settings but also in the different areas of the children’s development such as with regard to their social-emotional development and their physical well-being. On top of the financial support and programmes from BHF, the centre staff checks in with me regularly to ensure that everything is going well. It is really nice to know that there is somebody looking out for us.

You can touch lives through the BHF. Your contribution goes a long way and helps to ensure that children are given opportunities to education regardless of their family backgrounds. Be a part of the BHF family.
