From 18 to 20 November 2023, 12 children enrolled in a three-day Marketplace Marvels holiday programme conducted by NTUC First Campus Outdoor School Singapore. Through games and experiential learning, the programme aims to impart knowledge of Singapore’s sustainable and resilient food system.

Children visited a hypermarket to learn where daily items like groceries & toiletries come from on the first day of the camp.

On the second day of the programme, children honed their strategic thinking, financial planning and negotiation skills by playing a strategy and chance ‘deal or no deal’ game with mission cards to learn about food sustainability and potential challenges to it.

On the third and final day of the camp, children sowed seeds, transplanted seedlings and harvested produce as they experienced life as an urban farmer at the Grace Mission Agri urban farm.
