Uma was interviewed by Vasantham at the Symposium for Preschool Tamil Language Teachers 2024 on July 6.

At the Symposium for Preschool Tamil Language Teachers 2024 on July 6, Tamil Language teacher Uma Devi D/O R. Jayagumar from My First Skool at 51 Fernvale Link shared with other educators on how she uses outdoors as a classroom to instil a love for Tamil language and culture among the children she teaches.

For example, she introduces different parts of the banana plant to children, and shares how each part is used in the Indian culture. She also teaches children how to use banana leaves as plates for their food.

Uma believes that integrating elements from the outdoors in her teaching is an effective way to instil a love for the Tamil language and culture.
