The Teck Ghee Preschool Network which supports Teck Ghee families with preschoolers who have special needs was launched by Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong on 29 September 2024 at the Institute of Technical Education College Central.

NTUC First Campus’s My First Skool is part of the newly launched Teck Ghee Preschool Network which supports Teck Ghee families with preschoolers who have special needs. This initiative, which brings together seven operators and 13 preschool centres in Teck Ghee including My First Skool, offers targeted support to these families through two new schemes.

There will be a support network for parents of preschoolers who require early intervention, enabling them to support one another and share experiences. In addition, the Teck Ghee Preschool Bursary Award provides the necessary resources to children with special needs who may require additional mentoring, tutoring or enrichment, and whose parents may lack the resources or means to provide it.

These schemes were announced by Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong at an event on 29 September 2024 at the Institute of Technical Education College Central. More than 2,000 preschoolers, families and educators attended the event, held to celebrate Children’s Day.

Thian Ai Ling, General Manager of My First Skool said the new network is uniquely positioned to nurture the important growth and development of a child during his or her most critical years.

“The Teck Ghee Preschool Network plays a crucial role in bringing together high-quality early childhood education operators, connected with the shared mission to create nurturing, dynamic learning settings where young children can thrive academically, socially and emotionally, while also fostering deep connections within the broader community,” she said.

Besides supporting children, the network supports the parents and families of children. There will be parenting workshops, community resources and opportunities for parents to get involved to ensure that families feel engaged and empowered in their children’s learning journey.

“We recognise that when parents and caregivers are supported, children benefit,” she added.
