Local radio channel Capital 958FM featured two recipients of the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) Awards, including Paye Chia Pei Yun, Principal of My First Skool at Blk 681A Jurong West who received the Outstanding Early Childhood Leader Award on 2 November 2024.

Paye shared that “It takes a village to raise a child, as well as a community of dedicated professionals to nurture an early childhood leader.” She felt honoured to receive the award, and to serve as a principal in the field of early childhood education.

Paye said that every child is different, and it is extremely satisfying when parents, who initially could not understand the educators’ teaching approaches, eventually learnt how to better support their child’s needs in the home environment through constant communication with the teachers.

As a leader, Paye embraces and incorporates the strengths and skills of new teachers into the teaching environment, while helping them hone their weak areas. She believes that by doing so, she enables teachers to feel valued and eager to grow in the field.
