Early Childhood Educator – That’s me!
Hear from our Educators
Principal, My First Skool
A quote by the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew was what inspired me to enter the early childhood field: "If I have to choose one profession in which you give the most for the least, it is probably teaching."
NTUC First Campus has an enculturation programme, a series of quality assurance workshops and a planned learning journey that made the transition smooth for me. It also gave me a focus and direction that reaffirmed my purpose and belief that every child deserves a good education.
As educators, we constantly have to think on our feet, stand firm and uphold our principles. This has been my compass along the journey of building transformational relationships in my workplace. It has allowed me to grow professionally through curriculum leadership and centre management, and also empowered me to pay it forward and build others along this same journey. I like the fact that NFC is dynamic and constantly staying in the forefront of the industry. That excites me. I have ample opportunities to conduct research and be part of initiatives to benefit young children and inspire aspiring educators.
Since switching a deskbound job for working with children, I have developed strategic and curriculum leadership capabilities which I would never have experienced in my previous line of work. I have also honed my management skills and can easily oversee both small and large centres.
