At NTUC First Campus’s My First Skool, male educators play a vital role in enriching the learning environment, with 40 male teachers across its 159 centres.

Thian Ai Ling, General Manager of My First Skool, emphasised that male teachers not only challenge traditional gender stereotypes but also serve as positive role models, especially for children who may lack strong male figures in their lives.

One such teacher, Muhammad Syahmi Supian, a Kindergarten 2 English teacher at My First Skool at 187 Marsiling Road, shared how his experiences, including his time in national service, have enriched his teaching. Since joining in 2021, he has also grown in confidence and cherishes the rewarding moments when he positively impacts his students.

James Eu, a senior English teacher at My First Skool has been working as a preschool teacher for three years. He says that seeing children grow, learn new things, and become more confident every day is what motivates him to continue his teaching career.

Another educator, James Eu, a senior English teacher at My First Skool, was inspired by his upbringing to become a positive role model for young children, especially those from single-parent families. He believes that male teachers play a crucial role in children’s development and is committed to challenging stereotypes within the profession.
