Imaginative role play

Children at My First Skool, Blk 222 Bedok North Drive, engage in imaginative role play about the solar system, using creatively repurposed recycled materials.

At My First Skool, Blk 222 Bedok North Drive, the children display an extraordinary awareness of environmental issues, thanks to English Lead Teacher Victoria Ng’s integration of environmental education into her teachings. As a sustainability-led preschool educator, Victoria emphasises the importance of instilling a sense of responsibility, care, and respect for our environment. Her efforts extend beyond the classroom, involving outdoor excursions and hands-on activities that use recycled materials, encouraging creativity and critical thinking.

Victoria’s teaching philosophy is rooted in the Japanese concept of “Mimamoru,” meaning to “watch and wait.” She tailors her lessons to ignite curiosity and nurture a love for learning, recognising each child’s unique strengths and challenges. Her dedication to creating active, confident, and empathetic learners earned her the Leading Foundation Teacher Award (LFTA) in 2023, which recognises excellence in early childhood and special needs education in Singapore.

Discover how Victoria’s approach is nurturing the next generation of eco-advocates.
